Founded in 1977, Ditch Witch of Louisiana was purchased by Bill and Linda Duncan, whose vision, determination, and commitment to customer service laid the foundation for what would become one of the region’s most respected underground equipment dealerships. Bill began his career in the equipment industry with Sooner Equipment in Oklahoma, where he developed a deep understanding of the products, the contractors who rely on them, and the importance of standing behind every sale. When they acquired Ditch Witch of Louisiana, they brought with them a hands-on leadership style and a belief that strong relationships, honest business practices, and dependable support were just as important as the equipment itself.

Working alongside his wife, Linda Duncan, Bill grew the dealership into a trusted partner for contractors across Northern and Central Louisiana. Together, they built a business culture rooted in integrity, hard work, and long-term commitment to their customers. Under their leadership, Ditch Witch of Louisiana earned a reputation for knowledgeable sales support, reliable parts availability, and expert service—becoming a go-to source for trenchers, vibratory plows, horizontal directional drills, and other essential underground construction equipment.

Following Bill’s passing, Linda continued to lead the dealership as CEO, ensuring the values and principles he established remained at the heart of the company. Their sons, Tad Duncan and Trent Duncan, stepped into leadership roles, helping guide daily operations, strengthen manufacturer relationships, and expand customer support throughout the region. Today, the third generation is actively involved, with Tad’s children, Trevor and Taylor Duncan, contributing to the ongoing growth and future vision of the company.

Nearly five decades after its founding, Ditch Witch of Louisiana remains proudly family-owned and operated. The dealership continues to serve contractors throughout Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Ruston, Leesville, and surrounding communities with the same dedication to service, expertise, and partnership that defined it from the very beginning.
